Bill Sabatini, a retired architect is now creating abstract fine art. After over 40 years of practice he perfected a keen eye for composition and learned to see and think abstractly. His approach to design was characterized by simple geometry and strong form with a focus on the important relationship of interior (positive) and exterior (negative) space. Today, in a rigorous abstract painting practice, he strives to create work that captures your attention through lively color and contrast of shape, line, and form. His goal and challenge is to incite your emotion and curiosity to enable you to see beauty in something you have never seen before.
When asked why he chooses to create abstract art, he answers that it is art that completely frees his creative energy. There are no rules to break except his own. With unlimited inspiration provided by the magnificent scenery of the high desert southwest, he is free to experiment like a mad scientist mixing color, applying paint in different ways, and employing other materials to create imagery that feeds his imagination. Without a specific plan in mind his work evolves with each move in both an additive and deductive process that ends when he says the work is finished. Bill invites you to share in this adventure with him.
