I am an oil painter living in Taos. I paint still life, figure, and landscape in a representational style.  My work has of late become more expressionistic and abstract while remaining true to my  subject.  My landscape work comes out of a deep connection to the land that has been my refuge ever since I was a child.  Being with nature is a means of reaffirming life, of overcoming confusion.

I studied in the classical realist tradition, and am strongly influenced by the 19th century Russian painters. The land I paint around Taos has a great beauty, variety, and history.  When not outside, I paint in my studio on Kit Carson Rd.
